The MSU Museum, Lansing offers many long term exhibits which are divided into following categories:
- Collections Connections Lobby Gallery, this features cultural and natural history artifacts
- The Hall of World Cultures section includes artifacts from various traditional cultures over the world
- The Hall of Evolution reflects different fossils and evolutionary story of life, starting from early creatures up to the ice age.
- Hall of Animal Diversity depicts the feeding mechanisms of different animals. It also displays risks and threats to endangered species.
- The Habitat Hall houses life-sized dioramas that reflect the environment of North American forests, grasslands, tropics, tundra and deserts. It also includes the mounted skeletons of the dinosaurs from the Jurassic age.
Apart from displaying and preserving exhibits, the MSU Museum also engages itself in arranging various events and educational programs.
The MSU Museum also houses a store where you can drop in to buy souvenirs, gifts, jewelry, gift certificates and educational books, games and fun toys.
The admission to the museum is free. Limited parking space is available for tourists in front of the museum for a cost of US $ 1.00 for a two-hour permit. The MSU Museum, Lansing is accessible to disabled persons, special assistance is available upon request.
