Built in 58 acres of land, the Potter Park Zoo, Lansing is presently the home for over 100 different species of animals. The beautifully landscaped Potter Park Zoo, Lansing is the habitat for different rare species birds and animals like the Amur Tiger, Black Rhinos, Snow Leopard and many more.


The Potter Park Zoo is a non profit organization that is dedicated in protecting, preserving and exhibiting different rare and endangered species of animals. The natural environment in the zoo keeps the animal in their natural habitat. Different educational and recreational programs are also arranged by the Potter Park Zoo, Lansing authority so that people can learn how to love and respect animals.



One of the main attractions in the Potter Park Zoo, Lansing is the bird and reptile house which houses owls, Gila monsters, macaws, boas, emerald tree snakes and the most endangered species of the Bali Minah bird. The Coral Reef section of the zoo is the most amazing feature of the Potter Park Zoo, Lansing. It has some colorful fish, corals, crustaceans and other marine species on display.

If you like to adventure do remember to visit the wolf wood of the zoo. The thick wood of the zoo will remind you of the wild northern woods of Canada or Upper Peninsula. You can view the eastern timber wolves, one of the rare collections of the zoo from a log cabin.

The Potter Park Zoo, Lansing also houses an educational center. Most unique of its kind, the center has a discovery center and an exploration center. The education center also has classrooms and safari room. The special exhibit room of the center is used to display temporary wildlife presentation. Apart from conservation, protection and displaying animals, the zoo also engages itself in various other programs and events. It annually features summer camps and girls scout event.
