The State Capitol Building, Lansing houses the legislative and some of the executive branches of the Michigan state government, United States of America. Located in the state capital of Lansing, Ingham county the State Capitol Building, Lansing is one of the major attractions in the downtown of Lansing. The Capitol building is regarded as the national historic landmark. One interesting fact about the State Capitol Building, Lansing is that it is the third building to house the Michigan state government.

The award winning State Capitol Building, Lansing will surely take you back into the Victorian Era. The Michigan State Capitol building depicts the national trend particularly after the civil war. The building is considered to be the first architect of public buildings during the gilded age. The fireproof building is constructed in such a way to accommodate the state government's growing size and complexity. The State Capitol Building, Lansing is wonderfully decorated with murals, paintings and artifacts from Civil War. The skillful and elaborate techniques and patterns of the building's architecture and their color palette have ranked the State Capitol Building, Lansing as one of the best surviving displays in the United States from the Victorian era. The building underwent elaborate restoration from 1987 to 1992 which resulted in the return of the original appearance of the building, both in the interior and exterior.
The State Capitol Building, Lansing served as Michigan's seat of state government since the completion of the building in 1879.
