Thomas M Cooley Law School, Lansing

The Thomas M Cooley Law School, Lansing is recognized as the largest law school in the United States and it is a private law school and thus it is not affiliated with any university. The law school has been named after Thomas M. Cooley, the famous 19th century jurist of the Michigan Supreme Court. The Thomas M Cooley Law School, Lansing was established in 1972 by Thomas E. Brennan. This law school got the recognition of the American Bar Association and in 2006, the school was declared to be the only law college of the country which offers J.D. Programs at all the three distinct campuses. Most of the students opt for the course of Juris Doctor, J.D. Apart from that, many try for the Masters of Laws degree in intellectual property or tax related issues. The M.P.A. Program deals with Master of Public Administration degree.

In short, the Thomas M Cooley Law School, Lansing is an ideal institution for specialized legal study. One can do specialization in litigation cases, administrative law or in commercial transactions. In order to get a J.D. Degree, the student needs to complete 90 credit hours at the law school and in order to graduate the students must complete the 21 required courses in Torts, Contracts, Constitutional Law, research and Writing, Civil Procedure, taxations, Business Organizations, Secured Transactions and Evidence.
