The Government of East Lansing is Council-manager government. There are 5 at-large council members in the city council, elected for a term of 4 years.
The education scenario of the city is dominated by the Michigan State University, the largest institution of education in Michigan. This university was established in 1857 in the city of East Lansing. Apart from the university there are several schools for basic and higher education for the students in Michigan.
The Lansing Capital City Airport is the main air hub for East Lansing.Several domestic airlines serves the airport. Beal Botanical Garden and the Rock.
