Apart from these holidays in Lansing there are a number of events hosted in Lansing all round the year. In early spring and late winter over 30 independent films are previewed in the East Lansing Film Festival. This film festival challenges talents of Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. The Lansing Festival of Art is hosted in the Ferris Park in the last weekend of the month of June. The East Lansing Art Fair is held in the third weekend in the month of May. In May a fiesta is held in Lansing, a celebration of the Hispanic community. There are music, folklores and other entertainments in this festival. In July the Lansing Concert Band performs at the Riverfront Park. The Lansing Jazz Fest of two days is held in August. The Great Lakes Folk Festival is also held in August with variety of activities like storytelling, dance and music along with traditional food.

Three major events celebrate the holiday season of Lansing, the Wonderland of Lights at Potter Park, the Silver Bells in the City and the Michigan State University Holiday Arts & Crafts Show.
